We have recently been asked by some parents as to whether there are any opportunities for volunteering at Spa Academy Askern. We are currently looking to recruit parent volunteers to volunteer in school from January 2021.
If you would be interested in any of the volunteering opportunities below, please contact school by either emailing email@example.com or calling (01302) 700332 to express an interest.
The Trust's Volunteer Policy can be found at the bottom of this page.
Reading with pupils
As a school, our reading culture is unavoidable and has led to significant improvements at Spa. We are seeking parent volunteers that would be able and enthusiastic to support with reading with pupils (in addition to the reading with pupils that our staff currently undertake). Volunteers would access training, led by our Senior Leadership Team, on how to effectively support pupils when reading with them and then work with pupils across school. If you are interested in this volunteer opportunity and able to commit to a weekly afternoon slot, please contact school.
We are currently looking to set up a 'Book Swap' for parents. This would be a weekly 'book swap' run at the end of the school day (at the school gates), allowing parents/carers to choose/swap books for themselves. If you would be interested in supporting in organising this weekly 'book swap', please contact school to express your interest. Volunteers for this would be required to support from 2.30 - 3.30pm one afternoon a week (day to be confirmed).
We are looking to expand our Breakfast Club provision so that more pupils can benefit from this. If there are any parents that would be interested in supporting with Breakfast Club (7.45 - 8.45am) and able to commit to any mornings of the week, please contact school.
At Spa Academy, we value the contributions that volunteers can make to our school and our children’s learning. Being a school volunteer can provide the opportunity to: be involved with a vibrant and engaging school community; engage in learning activities with primary age children; develop knowledge of teaching and learning across the primary curriculum and gain experience as working as part of a team in a professional environment.
If you would be interested in any of the volunteering opportunities above, please contact school by either emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling (01302) 700332 to express an interest. The Trust's Volunteer Policy can be found below.
