I am writing to you to give you some clarity and reassurance following the statement from the Prime Minister about imminent school closures.
The Prime Minister announced yesterday that due to the Coronavirus crisis, all schools will be closed to most students from Monday 23rd March until further notice.
We have been instructed that where possible, provision is to be made for students whose parents/carers are classified as ‘Key Workers’. Key workers are currently defined as: NHS staff, police and delivery drivers. This list will be amended with further definitions of key workers later today. Thank you to those parents who replied to our letter yesterday helping us understand how many students may need this provision, however we now require further details and to collate firm numbers.
It is important that, if your family falls into one of the above categories, you notify us by 9.00am on Friday 20th March 2020 at the latest to advise us as to whether you need to take up the offer of provision whilst school is closed. It may be that this provision is provided by a setting other than your child’s usual school however we are unable to confirm this until we have a more accurate idea of numbers. It may be necessary that you provide proof of your occupation to enable you to take up this offer.
Please email email@example.com the following information:
1) Your name
2) Name of your employer
3) Job title
4) Name of child/children
5) The school your child currently attends and their current year group
6) What days in the week you will need provision for
7) An up to date contact number and email address for further communication
8) If your child has existing taxi provision in place; will this be needed
I appreciate that we are facing challenging times and we will, of course, keep you updated with developments, as and when we receive instruction from the Department for Education and the Government. Please ensure you respond to this requested by the deadline of 9.00am Friday 20th March 2020 at the latest.
Thank you for your continued help and patience during this unsettled period.
